The Rock and Roll property is located on the south side of Iskut River, approximately 10 kilometres northwest of the Bronson Airstrip.

The Rock and Roll property lies within a belt of deformed mafic metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks of the Paleozoic Stikine terrane and the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The Stuhini rock hosts a massive sulphide deposit known as the Black Dog zone. The Black Dog zone is hosted by meta-argillite and siltstone units interspersed with mafic to intermediate tuff and flow volcanic rocks and sill and dike intrusive units. The Black Dog zone fits in with a broad group of submarine, volcanic associated Ag-Au-Zn-Cu massive sulphide deposits. Four types of intrusive stocks and dikes outcrop in the area.

The occurrence area is divided into two generalized lithological packages along a northwest boundary that bisects Lost Lake. To the west, limestone and calcareous pelitic sediments occur with andesite flows and minor fine buff ash tuff; small-scale intrusives comprising andesite porphyry dikes, melanocratic plagioclase porphyry and melanocratic hornblende diorite occur in this area. To the east the geologic setting is distinguished by the absence of limestone and an increase in the volcanic component. Lithologies include phyric to aphyric andesite tuffs or flows, intermediate ash crystal tuff, hypabyssal andesite to diorite, siltstone, argillite, graphitic argillite and minor chert. Medium-grained melanocratic hornblende diorite stocks outcrop just north of Lost Lake and bounds the mineralized Black Dog zone to the northeast. A felsic feldspar porphyry dike outcrops 300 metres east of the Black Dog zone.

Detailed mapping and drilling at the Black Dog zone indicate phyric/aphyric andesite tuffs or flows are conformably interbedded and overlie siltstone, argillite and graphitic argillite. Further down sequence, apparently conformable and fault-bounded hypabyssal hornblende diorite occurs in close association with porphyritic andesite. This unit appears to be underlain by additional siltstone and argillite units. Fine ash crystal tuff occurs throughout the sequence.

Sulphide mineralization at the Black Dog zone is hosted within structurally deformed silicified mudstone to graphitic argillite units at or near phyric/aphyric tuff contacts. The Black Dog zone is characterized structurally by pervasive moderate to strong shearing and cataclastic deformation, with abundant small-scale folds visible. Northeast and northwest normal(?) faults trend through the area; northeast shears cut sulphide mineralization in one trench.

Petrographic studies of core samples identified the alteration products clinozoisite and actinolite and minor chlorite and sericite. Quartz and calcite exist as stringers.

The Black Dog horizon is a stratigraphic section hosting three zones of base metal mineralization that occur as wispy stringers and disseminated to well-laminated semi-massive and massive sulphides. The sulphides consist of pyrrhotite, pyrite, sphalerite, galena and minor chalcopyrite with lesser arsenopyrite and tetrahedrite. This mineralization strikes northwest and dips 20 to 30 degrees to the south west. Each zone averages 7 metres in width with a maximum of 10 metres; overall, the Black Dog horizon is approximately 25 metres thick. The zone seems to narrow to the southeast and appears to pinch out near surface. Drilling has tested the horizon for over approximately 550 metre south east along strike and a downdip length of 175 metres. The SRV zone was discovered at depth in 1991 by drilling and is located approximately 45 metres below the south end of the Black Dog zone. It has been traced, by drilling, for approximately 75 metres along strike.

Two styles of mineralization have been identified at the Black Dog and SRV zones. The first style comprises massive pyrrhotite with blebs and lenses of chalcopyrite and sphalerite forming the matrix to clasts of predominantly argillite with minor quartz, gypsum and diorite clasts mixed in locally. The second style comprises massive pyrite-sphalerite forming finely laminated lenses locally, with minor pyrrhotite, galena and chalcopyrite. Trace amount of tetrahedrite and arsenopyrite have also been identified in some higher-grade sections. The mineralized horizon is commonly underlain by a stringer stock/work zone with stringer and wispy sulphides in areas of less pervasive silicification.

Work History

The earliest recorded work was in 1987 when 150 soil and 6 silt samples were collected from the Rob 19, 20 and 21 claims in conjunction with a reconnaissance geology survey for New Alster Energy Ltd. This group of claims (name prefixed by Rob) was operated subsequently as the Born Again project separately from the Rock and Roll Project (on claim names prefixed by Rock or Roll).

Beginning in 1990 work was carried out under various companies within the Prime Equities Group. Following completion of an airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey by Aerodat Limited for a consortium of companies in the Iskut River area and the discovery of silver-gold-copper-lead-zinc mineralization in outcrop immediately south of the Iskut River (part of what is now known as the Black Dog zone), a very aggressive exploration program was initiated which continued through 1991. This work included: additional airborne electromagnetic and magnetic surveys by Aerodat; linecutting (two sets of lines, oriented east-west and at 060 degrees exist over most of the survey area); geological mapping; trenching on the Black Dog Zone; soil geochemistry; horizontal loop electromagnetics and magnetics; VLF survey; Induced Polarization survey and; diamond drilling. In 1990, following the discovery of mineralization on surface and in trenches on the Black Dog zone, nine holes (RR90-01 to 09) were drilled which intersected mineralization over a strike length of 50 metres.

In 1991 at least 85 (RR91-10 to 91-93) additional holes (totalling 10405 metres) were drilled in the vicinity of the Black Dog zone. Although various documents, including assay records and digital databases are still extant, no formal documentation prepared by the operators was located. The drilling tested the stratigraphy over a strike distance of 800 metres on sections spaced 50 metres apart. This program resulted in expansion of the Black Dog Zone and discovery of the parallel SRV Zone. Prime Resources outlined an inferred mineral resource of volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralization, the Black Dog zone, of 675,000 tonnes at an average grade of 1.75 grams per tonne gold, 234 grams per tonne silver, 0.4 per cent copper, 0.5 per cent lead, 2.2 per cent zinc (Exploration and Mining in BC 2004, page 31).

Preliminary (indicated) reserves within a 700-metre portion of the Black Dog horizon are 580,544 tonnes grading 3.08 per cent zinc, 0.79 per cent lead, 0.64 per cent copper, 2.4 grams per tonne gold and 335.9 grams per tonne silver (Northern Miner - October 28, 1991, page 3).

In 1997, Redstar Resources Ltd. conducted an additional 10 hole drill program for a total of 2203 metres, bringing the total drilling to 13,383 metres on the Rock and Roll property. The 1997 program primarily tested for extensions to the Black Dog and SRV zones. Two drill holes (RR97-100 and RR97-101) on the SRV zone yielded 0.630 and 1.59 grams per tonne gold, 59.5 and 171.5 grams per tonne silver, 0.34 and 0.40 per cent copper, 0.22 and 0.86 per cent lead with 0.98 and 2.23 per cent zinc over 5.79 and 0.98 metres, respectively (Jones, M., Armitage, A. (2011-02-23): 2010 Technical Report on the Rock and Roll Property).

Based on positive results, Redstar commissioned a new resource estimate. The new resource estimation was assigned to the Indicated. (The 1997 resource estimate also predates National Instrument 43-101.) Both the Black Dog and SRV Zones were included in the resource estimation. Becherer (1997) estimated the mineral resource to contain 675,000 tonnes grading 1.75 grams per tonne gold, 233.8 grams per tonne silver, 0.40 per cent copper, 0.50 per cent lead, and 2.20 per cent zinc.

In 2004, Conquest Resources Ltd. optioned the Rock and Roll property. In 2004, geological mapping and a soil geochemical survey were carried out primarily in the area between the two prospects. Some 1400 soil samples were analyzed for mobile metal ions (MMI) in the hope of detecting a ‘blind’ southeast extension of the Black Dog zone and/or extensions of the Phiz zone (104B 165). Weak anomalies in zinc and gold were found, not much different than were identified by an earlier conventional B-horizon soil survey. No follow up work was done to determine their significance.

In 2009, Pacific North West Capital Corp. contracted a 351.5 line kilometre airborne electro-magnetic and magnetic survey flown by Aeroquest Surveys over the Rock and Roll property and completed a drill program consisted of 5 diamond drill holes, drilled from 4 set ups, for a total of 539.81 metres of NQ core. The airborne survey defined a zone of very strong conductivity in the area of the Black Dog zone, plus possible extensions of the conductive stratigraphy along strike to the southeast and to the northwest across the Iskut River. The drill program included four in-fill holes to test mineralization within the boundaries of the Black Dog plus one step out hole on the Black Dog horizon to the northwest. The in-fill holes intersected massive sulphide mineralization of variable tenor whereas the step out intersected an unmineralized diorite dike at the projection of the Black Dog horizon. Drilling on the Black Dog zone yielded intercepts of up to 0.56 gram per tonne gold, 57.9 grams per tonne silver, 0.19 per cent copper 0.24 per cent zinc and 0.91 per cent lead over 19.41 metres (true width of 17.6 metres) in hole RR09-107 and 0.28 gram per tonne gold, 18.3 grams per tonne silver, 0.13 per cent copper 0.05 per cent zinc and 0.72 per cent lead over 38.71 metres (true width of 31.5 metres) in hole RR09-108 (Jones, M., Armitage, A. (2011-02-23): 2010 Technical Report on the Rock and Roll Property).

In 2010 Pacific North West Capital intended to follow up several of the electro-magnetic conductors identified by the 2009 airborne geophysical survey. The program focused on the area east and south east of Lost Lake and on the north side of the Iskut River, along strike from the Black Dog zone. A total of 11 person/days were spent on the program and a total of 6 standard silt samples and 20 rock samples were taken.

In April 2011 Pacific Northwest Capital released an updated Indicated resource estimate of 2,155,679 tonnes grading 0.68 gram per tonne gold, 82.7 grams per tonne silver, 0.22 per cent copper, 0.22 per cent lead, and 0.94 per cent zinc. Calculated at a cut-off of 0.5 gram per tonne gold equivalent (Pacific Northwest Capital News Release April 27, 2011).

In June 2012 Pacific Northwest Capital terminated their option on the Rock and Roll property and no work was conducted until Etruscus Resources Corp. acquired the property in March of 2018.

In August 2018, Etruscus Resources Corp. reported an updated Inferred resource estimate of 2,015,000 tonnes grading 0.71 gram per tonne Au, 87.1 grams per tonne Ag, 0.23 per cent Cu, 0.23 per cent Pb, and 0.98 per cent Zn. Calculated at 0.5 gram per tonne AuEq (Technical Report on the Rock and Roll Property for Etruscus Resources Corp., November 6, 2018).

In 2019 Etruscus Resources Corp. conducted a program of prospecting and rock sampling on their expanded property. At Hoodoo West, Etruscus was able to identify numerous sulphide-bearing quartz veins, extending the area of mineralization at this location to 300 metres by 300 metres. An angular float sample from a polymetallic quartz vein returned 25 grams per tonne Au, 332 grams per tonne Ag and 5 per cent Pb (Etruscus News Release Feb 28, 2020).

In 2020 Etruscus Resources Corp. reported the discovery of a very large and compelling new target -- the Wall -- at its 100-per-cent-owned Rock and Roll property in the heart of the Eskay camp in northwestern British Columbia's Golden Triangle. The Wall is immediately adjacent to the Black Dog deposit and is prospective for high-grade gold, silver and base metals (Etruscus News Release June 15, 2020). Drilling intersected multiple zones of massive and semi-massive sulphides (assays pending) during deep drilling at its Rock & Roll property (Etruscus News Release September 15, 2020). Drilling continues at the Stardust, Wall and Angie targets on the property (Etruscus News Release September 24, 2020).
